Polka
An energetic and high spirited social dance,
Polka originated among the peasants of eastern
Bohemia in the 1830's. Traveling by way of immigrants
in the late 1920's, contemporary Polka swept into
America's ballrooms and theaters and was composed for
ballets and operas. This recording brings new life to
14 all-time favorite Polkas, arranged by Craig Duncan
and veteran polka accordionist Michael Zikovich.
